Moderates believe that the security situation has deteriorated so much that the government must revive the dormant defense preparation. The Liberals, who defected defense deal with the government, interpreters Moderates requirements that M is now in breach with the settlement.
- You can still recognize the Moderates' statement that, in practice, still denounces the defense deal that was reached in April, says Allan Widman, defense policy spokesperson for L.
Allan Widman speaks as if the defense agreement that the government signed with the M, C and KD in the spring, and as the Liberals stood outside.
- We have seen how environmental situation continued to deteriorate as we have from the Liberals' side seen that the additional resources that were in the defense deal would be insufficient. Moderates wish now is a confirmation for us on this one.
The Christian Democrats' Mikael Oscarsson is not as far as Allan Widman. Armed settlement from last spring is fixed, he says.
But he points out at the same time that it wants to see a new defense preparation, because the situation has changed since the agreement was signed.
- U-båtsjakten we had last fall shows that we have for the poor ability when it comes to hunt submarines. Then we have the manpower supply where the problems are much greater than the formulation wrote.
- But it is also because of Russia's actions in Syria showing that Russia has a greater military capacity than the preparation assessed.
Is the defense inadequate?
- It was a step in the right direction, but it must be followed by more steps, says Mikael Oscarsson.
